Project Pericles is inviting applications for an Associate Director:

Associate Director Position Description

Project Pericles seeks a highly qualified, enthusiastic, committed, and results-oriented individual to join the organization. The Associate Director will work closely with the Executive Director to manage fundraising, finances, and communications. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to take on a new role in the organization and help it grow. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on multiple projects and be a self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize. Demonstrated leadership, creativity, resourcefulness, and accomplishment is a must. This position offers opportunities to grow professionally by rewarding creativity and results.  

 
Responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree required and authorization to work in the United States. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum four years of work experience as a goal-oriented manager in higher education, public policy or non-profit enterprise, with demonstrated capacity for leadership, creativity, resourcefulness, and accomplishment.
  • Experience cultivating financial support from corporations, foundations, and individual donors.
  • Significant contacts and familiarity with the educational and philanthropic sectors.
  • Experience in preparing budgets and grant proposals, and implementing fundraising initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, including familiarity with newsletter and website design. Marketing experience a plus.
  • Understanding of the rationale, mission and strategy of Project Pericles, a personal affinity to its objectives, and an ability to communicate its inspiration and national significance.
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and the ability to work on multiple, time-sensitive projects in a rapidly-changing environment.
  • Excellent written and financial skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well with multiple constituents.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software preferred.
  • Maturity and a sense of humor.
 
Compensation
Salary: $72,000-$77,000 based on education and experience
Medical insurance and 403(b) retirement savings plan
 
This is a full-time position based in New York City.
